Job Description

Responsibilities

  • A Week in the Life of a Promoter: Your part-time schedule will be event-driven and may fluctuate, typically involving evening and weekend shifts. Time is generally focused on:
  • Events (e.g., Home Shows, Deck Open Houses): Setting up the Green Shield presence, proactively engaging with attendees, and starting conversations with homeowners about their deck projects.
  • Canvassing: Approaching homeowners in neighborhoods near the event to extend an invitation, introduce Green Shield deck services, and qualify leads.
  • Planning/Follow-up: Preparing for upcoming events and coordinating with the scheduling team to ensure smooth handoffs.
  • Actively generate leads for deck-building services through participation in various promotional channels.
  • Engage with the public professionally and enthusiastically to introduce Green Shield Deck Builders and our services.
  • Clearly communicate Green Shield Deck Builders' value proposition to potential homeowners.
  • Approach homeowners proactively, ask qualifying questions about outdoor projects, handle rejection, and continue engaging new leads.
  • Set Sales sppointments with qualified leads.
  • Travel throughout Michigan and Indiana to attend scheduled events.
  • Problem solving any event issues on site to ensure they run smoothly.

Requirements

  • Schedule & Availability: Must be available to work part-time hours (up to 30 hours/wk), primarily focused on event schedules, which will include evenings and weekends. Hours will vary depending on scheduled events.
  • Travel Expectations: Willingness and ability to travel frequently across the Michigan and Indiana service territory. Events may require driving several hours from your home location, and some weekends may involve multiple event days with the possibility of overnight stays. Travel requirements vary depending on event schedules.
  • Physical: Ability to stand for long periods of time, walk long distances, and lift up to 50 pounds as required by event and canvassing activities. Work may require standing for extended periods in outdoor environments or at event setups.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Self-motivated, with a proactive approach to lead generation.
  • Transportation: Must possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
