Job Description

Part-Time Assistant / Social Media & Events Coordinator

I’m looking for a sharp, organized, proactive part-time assistant to support me across events, content, social media, and day-to-day coordination. This role will start at 15 hours per week, with the opportunity to grow into a larger scope and potentially become full-time.

This is a unique opportunity for someone interested in tech, AI, media, events, and the creator economy. You’ll come with me to tech and AI events, help capture content on-site, and be in the room with leaders across the industry while helping build the operational backbone behind a growing media brand.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting event logistics and coordination, including schedules, run-of-show details, guest lists, confirmations, travel, and on-site support
  • Attending tech and AI events with me and helping capture content, behind-the-scenes moments, photos, short clips, and key takeaways
  • Managing social media scheduling across LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and newsletter channels
  • Helping organize and track content calendars, deadlines, drafts, and deliverables
  • Assisting with light video editing, clipping, uploads, captions, covers, and asset organization
  • Coordinating with editors, brand partners, agencies, and event teams
  • Helping prep for panels, talks, interviews, podcast recordings, and content shoots
  • Handling light administrative tasks, inbox organization, calendar coordination, and follow-ups
  • Keeping projects moving and making sure nothing falls through the cracks

Ideal candidate:

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and reliable
  • Strong communicator who can move quickly and professionally
  • Interested in tech, AI, startups, media, creators, and events
  • Comfortable capturing content at live events
  • Comfortable with social media platforms and basic content workflows
  • Has an eye for what performs well online
  • Can do light video editing or is willing to learn
  • Proactive, resourceful, and able to anticipate needs
  • Comfortable being in fast-paced rooms and representing the brand professionally
  • Based in the Bay Area preferred, with flexibility to attend in-person events

This role will start as an assistant role supporting Meghana Dhar and Tea in Tech, but for the right person, there is meaningful opportunity to grow into a broader role across operations, content, partnerships, events, and media.
