Job Summary

Own community-facing communications support for Edgehill partnerships with Metro Parks and Easley Center, coordinating social media and tailored communications to reach Edgehill/Rose Park residents and partners.

  • Own Stakeholder Engagement: Build relationships with Belmont Edgehill partners and Metro Parks staff to align outreach, programs, and events.
  • Content & Social: Plan and execute communications vehicles including social media to promote Easley Center and Park programs to the Edgehill community.
  • Operational Support: Handle data entry, deadlines, and meetings to keep partnerships and communications moving forward.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Assist Office of Community and Government Relations in strengthening partnership with Metropolitan Board of Parks and Recreation and Easley Center by marketing and public relations to improve Parks and Recreation outreach for Edgehill programs.
  • Plan and execute tailored communications vehicles, including social media, to communicate with constituents and partners in the Edgehill/Rose Park area for Metro Parks.
  • Do data entry as necessary.
  • Meet with Metro Parks and Easley Center/Rose Park staff and develop relationships with Belmont's Edgehill neighborhood partners.
  • May attend neighborhood meetings.
  • May facilitate or work with Edgehill youth to produce communications designed to promote programs at Easley Center/Rose Park.

Requirements

  • Excellent grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
  • Knowledge of regulations governing publication of written material.
  • Organizational skills and ability to work on deadlines.
  • Working knowledge of computer software programs used to write and edit various materials.
  • Proofreading and editing skills.
  • Ability to write and speak clearly and effectively.
  • Ability to establish relationships and use of Social Media.
  • Confidentiality and transportation to work off Belmont campus.
  • Required Education: Must be enrolled as a current student at Belmont.
  • Required Experience: Paid or volunteer work on print or electronic newspaper, blogs, YouTubes, social media for high school, college, church, non-profit, etc.
