Responsibilities

• Marketing & Communications · Create and coordinate engaging print and digital marketing materials that promote the Museum, its programs, events, and mission. · Develop and maintain engaging social media and Museum website content. · Assist with the development and distribution of promotional materials and communications. · Help ensure that the Museum's public-facing communications are accurate, timely, professional, and consistent with its mission and brand. · Assist with marketing and promotional efforts for the Museum's Annual Gala and other special events.
• Visitor Services · Serve as a welcoming and knowledgeable point of contact for Museum visitors. · Respond to general visitor inquiries by phone, email, and other communication channels. · Collect and maintain visitor data and other information that helps the Museum understand its audience and improve visitor experiences. · Assist visitors with questions regarding Museum programs, events, tours, and other offerings. · Work collaboratively with Museum volunteers to ensure visitors receive a friendly, engaging, and memorable experience.
• Tours & Educational Programs · Coordinate docent-led group tours, including scheduling and communication with tour groups and Museum volunteers. · Assist with planning and managing educational programs and special events. · Coordinate logistics and promotion for the Museum's monthly Speaker Series. · Support other educational activities and programs as needed.
• Membership & Museum Support · Assist the Deputy Director with administration and promotion of the Museum's membership program. · Help communicate membership benefits, opportunities, and events to current and prospective members. · Provide general administrative and organizational support to the Deputy Director. · Work cooperatively with Museum volunteers and staff on projects and activities that support the Museum's overall mission.

Requirements

• Experience in one or all of the following: museum work, education, marketing/promotions, communications, visitor services, or a related field.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
• Ability to work independently while also being a collaborative team member.
• Proficiency with common computer applications and digital communication tools.
• A positive, professional, and enthusiastic approach to working with visitors and volunteers.
• Willingness to learn, take initiative, and pitch in wherever needed.

Preferred

• Experience creating print and digital marketing materials.
• Experience managing organizational or business social media and websites.
• Experience coordinating educational programs, tours, or special events.
• Experience working with volunteers.
• Familiarity with aviation history, military history, museums, or non-profit organizations.
