Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a personal, active relationship with Jesus Christ and is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ
  • Develops and leads media and social media strategy to clearly and creatively communicate Samaritan's Purse's Christ-centered mission and ministry worldwide, using timely project activity to shape compelling story angles.
  • Leads and equips media relations coordinators and spokespersons, overseeing media pitching, follow-up, press releases, and spokesperson preparation while pursuing opportunities across local, regional, and national outlets.
  • Directs the social media team and brand presence across Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, and other platforms, ensuring engaging daily content, coordinated messaging, and alignment with the President's Office and Communications teams.
  • Promotes the full scope of Samaritan's Purse ministry, including emergency relief, Operation Christmas Child, Operation Heal Our Patriots, Children's Heart Project, World Medical Mission, and other global relief and evangelism efforts; deploys domestically and internationally during crises to provide frontline media support and serve as a spokesperson when needed.
  • Builds and strengthens ministry audiences through strategic campaigns and data-informed engagement, partnering across marketing, editorial, design, and web teams while using research, benchmarking, reporting, networking, training, and ROI analysis to continually improve communications and advance the Gospel.
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; and at least five (5) years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Exceptional command of written communication, including spelling, punctuation, syntax, grammar, and style, with the ability to craft clear, compelling content that reflects the ministry's voice and mission.
  • Strong creative writing and editorial skills, with the ability to develop original speeches and articles and expertly edit, copy edit, and proofread content for clarity, flow, consistency, and tone.
  • Confident communicator and presenter, capable of delivering effective and persuasive presentations on complex or sensitive topics to executive leadership, boards, ministry partners, and public audiences.
  • Versatile professional writing ability, including reports, business correspondence, procedural documentation, and other communications requiring accuracy, clarity, and sound judgment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret business, professional, technical, and regulatory information; apply practical quantitative concepts; gather and evaluate data; establish facts; and draw sound, well-reasoned conclusions.
  • 12 credit hours of college-level Biblical Studies(required); if not completed, an opportunity to meet and complete the requirement is available upon hire
