Job Summary

Own the stadium media operations on game days, assist in press box and credential management, and help compile post‑match notes and stats while supporting media relations across activations and communications duties.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Communications staff on gamedays in various roles while helping promote the Club’s brand through the media
  • Assist in press box preparation and management before and after games to ensure a fantastic matchday experience for all attending media and broadcasters
  • Operate and staff the media check-in, managing credential distribution to media, photographers and guests
  • Compile key storylines and player milestones throughout the match for the post-match notes, in addition to working with the League to track and keep stats to input into the database
  • Act as an on-field photo marshal for broadcasters and photographers
  • Facilitate post-match press conference and player availability, gather audio and transcribe for the inclusion of the post-match notes that are distributed to media
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director and Manager, Media Relations in preparation for a home match such as publicity recaps, gameday notes, stats, and support at New York City FC Communications activations

Requirements

  • College graduate or currently enrolled in an accredited College or University, working towards a bachelor’s degree in public relations, Communications, Sports Management, or related field
  • An understanding of media and soccer, with the desire to learn about Communications and sports media operations
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated with a high degree of integrity; takes personal responsibility for accomplishing tasks in a way that positively and professionally represents the Club
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational & time management skill
  • Excellent work ethic and ability to learn quickly, with ability to multi-task and prioritize workload
  • Flexible schedule, with availability to work nights, weekends and odd hours as assigned, based on the NYCFC and NYCFC II regular season and postseason schedules
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of Spanish and Portuguese is a plus, but not required
  • Applicant must be able to comply with MLS Next Safety and Well-Being policy and any other applicable child safety policies provided to applicants by NYCFC
