Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage the hello@jahajee.org email inbox
• Respond to general inquiries and route communications to appropriate staff members
• Track follow-up requests and ensure timely communication
• Flag urgent, sensitive or time-sensitive correspondence
• Manage Jahajee's social media platforms, including Instagram and Facebook
• Create and maintain a monthly communications and social media calendar
• Draft captions consistent with Jahajee’s tone, values and messaging
• Design graphics, flyers and visual content using Canva and other design tools
• Schedule and publish posts, stories, reels and other digital content
• Monitor comments, direct messages, tags and engagements

Requirements

• Experience in communications, digital media, marketing, storytelling, public relations, community engagement or related fields
• Experience developing content that elevates community voices and advances social change narratives
• Excellent writing, editing and verbal communication skills
• Experience managing social media platforms and creating engaging digital content
• Experience using Canva or similar design platforms to create promotional materials
• Experience creating or editing short-form video content for social media
• Experience using email marketing tools like Mailchimp
• Comfortable learning and navigating Google Workspace, Linktree (or equivalent) and social media scheduling tools (Meta Business Suite, Later, or Buffer)
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines independently
