Job Summary

Own end-to-end social media and content calendar management for Hacker Valley Media, directing podcast support, quality review, and monthly performance reporting across LinkedIn, YouTube, and Instagram.

  • Lead flagship client social management and content calendar execution
  • Oversee quality gate and ensure high-energy QC reviews
  • Deliver monthly metrics, insights, and goals with leadership

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Run social for our flagship client : end-to-end account management: post creation, content calendar (Notion), publishing episodes to YouTube, metric collection, and weekly camera-on calls with our teams.
  • Own the Hacker Valley content calendar : Social copy and scheduling across LinkedIn, YouTube, and Instagram; LinkedIn Live invites and RSVP pushes (200–400 registrations per event); social listening and metrics via Hootsuite.
  • Support the podcast pipeline : Assist with episode outlines, show notes, and thumbnail creative direction across our shows. You don't need to be a designer, but you do need to share your opinions and ideas.
  • Be the quality gate : You hold a seat on the formal review in our QC workflow. Your job is to keep the energy at an all-time high and send back anything that isn't hot. Decent doesn't work for us.
  • Report on what's working : Monthly metrics with takeaways (start/stop/keep), and your own monthly goals agreed with leadership from month one. You can tell leadership what actually happened, not just what looks good.

Requirements

  • 1-2+ years in social media/content marketing, or a standout new grad with a real creator portfolio (a channel, a meme account, an internship where you actually shipped). We've promoted from this exact seat before: our COO and our outgoing Executive Producer both started here-ish.
  • A writer. You love social platforms, and taking shots at hook-first social copy
  • A finisher. Calendars stay current, nothing posts late, follow-through is automatic.
  • In it for marketing : this is your path. You’re not using the marketing role to springboard into sales later.

Preferred

  • Creative writing: You can write in multiple brand voices without letting them bleed into each other.
  • AI fluency: You use AI as a drafting partner, not a ghostwriter — and you know exactly where its output stops being good enough. AI-as-final-output doesn't fly at Hacker Valley: if your copy could have come straight out of ChatGPT with no judgment added, it won't work here.
  • Cybersecurity curiosity: You don't need to be a hacker, but you're genuinely curious about cybersecurity and hacker culture — and you can write for our technical-leaning audience without pretending to be one of them.
