Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Strategy & Planning: Develop and execute marketing and communications strategies, including donor-focused campaigns for fundraising events.
  • Content Creation: Conceptualize, create, edit, and implement diverse content (e.g., online content, flyers, slide decks, brochures, newsletters). Take initiative to stay updated on organization activities to maintain updated information and promote in a timely manner.
  • Coordination: Oversee the production of marketing, communications, and promotional materials.
  • Collaboration: Work with team members to promote programs, events, and initiatives.
  • Evaluation & Metrics: Track and assess campaign effectiveness social media activity.
  • Social Media Management: Manage content and resources for social media and other promotional channels.
  • Research: Conduct research to inform marketing and communications and content strategies.
  • Supervision: Supervise and manage 2-3 employees.
  • Networking & Partnerships: Support the team in establishing networks and partnerships to enhance Maristan’s visibility.
  • Reporting: Prepare and submit monthly and quarterly reports; analyze metrics and provide recommendations.

Requirements

  • At minimum 3+ years of marketing & communications experience, at least 1 year of supervision, preferably in a non-profit organization
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, or any related field.
  • At least 1 year previous experience with a Muslim organization, non-profit, or a mental health organization
  • Preferred: Proficiency with design software and media tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, video editing software, etc.).
  • Exceptional writing skills
  • Commitment to Maristan’s mission and a demonstrated commitment to advancing mental health and wellness
  • Demonstrated leadership, personnel management, and time management abilities
  • Demonstrated donor relations achievements, such as, partnerships and collaborations with key media individuals.
  • Ability to work collegially with employees and community organizations
  • Ability to organize and prioritize the work of the organization
  • Strong ability and desire to serve as staff leader and mentor; excellent supervision and staff support skills with proven ability to work with different work styles and to facilitate staff communication and collegiality

  • Familiarity with time-management tools, such as Asana
  • Flexible, self-starter and able to multitask while also being highly detail-oriented.
