Job Description

Responsibilities

Develop and oversee the institutional brand identity and communication strategy across digital and physical channels to strengthen Innovate Bay’s market positioning and visibility.
Design and implement integrated marketing strategies that support incubator growth, founder engagement, membership recruitment, and community development.
Lead the development of messaging frameworks, storytelling strategies, and audience engagement initiatives aligned with Innovate Bay’s mission and growth objectives.
Establish and maintain brand standards, marketing collateral, and communications guidelines. Identify emerging marketing opportunities, trends, and ecosystem partnerships that support Innovate Bay’s strategic goals.
Design and lead the marketing lifecycle for incubator programs, including recruitment strategy, founder engagement, and community-building initiatives.
Develop campaigns that drive membership growth, program participation, community engagement, and external visibility.
Build and maintain relationships with startups, founders, investors, corporate partners, faculty, students, and external stakeholders.
Represent Innovate Bay’s brand and marketing initiatives in external meetings, events, and ecosystem partnerships.
Develop and manage strategic partnerships with ecosystem stakeholders, venture capital firms, corporate sponsors, and community organizations to expand Innovate Bay’s visibility and resource network.
Collaborate cross-functionally with SFBU departments, academic programs, and external partners to align marketing initiatives with institutional priorities.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Entrepreneurship, Public Relations, Media, or a related field.
2–4 years of progressively responsible experience in marketing, branding, growth marketing, communications, startup ecosystems, entrepreneurship programs, community engagement, or related fields. Relevant internships, startup experience, freelance work, student leadership, or equivalent applied experience may be considered.
Demonstrated experience developing and implementing marketing strategies and brand positioning initiatives.
Experience managing multi-channel marketing campaigns, communications, and audience engagement efforts.

Preferred

Experience working in startup incubators, accelerators, venture ecosystems, coworking spaces, entrepreneurship programs, or higher education environments.
Experience overseeing external vendors, agencies, or creative contractors.
Familiarity with CRM systems, analytics platforms, marketing automation tools, and social media management platforms.
Experience with founder-focused programming, startup community building, or ecosystem development.
