Responsibilities

• Full-Spectrum Campaign Strategy and Execution: Design and deliver end-to-end integrated marketing strategies for major trade missions, sector events, and cross-cutting campaigns across the USA and Canada. Deploy a balanced mix of paid media, organic social, PR, content marketing, and targeted stakeholder engagement to maximise reach and commercial impact. Requires experience in designing and delivering multi-channel B2B marketing campaigns across paid media, organic social, PR, and email, with a clear focus on commercial outcomes.
• Agency and Budget Management: Lead on agreed paid media campaigns and serve as the dedicated point of contact for external media and creative agencies, briefing them effectively and ensuring campaigns are delivered on time, on budget, and against agreed KPIs. Set clear performance metrics, track campaign analytics, and translate data into actionable insights to optimise future marketing spend and demonstrate return on investment. Requires experience in managing external creative or media-buying agencies, holding them to account on quality, timelines, and budget, while maximising the value of every pound spent.
• Low and No-Cost Marketing Innovation: Recognise that impact does not always require a large budget. Design creative, low-and-no-cost campaigns that make full use of DBT's existing digital footprint, partner networks, and earned media opportunities. Work with the wider marcomms team to turn internal research, trade wins, and policy milestones into compelling, shareable content narratives that extend the reach of DBT's work without relying on paid promotion. Continuously evaluate the effectiveness of organic activity and share learnings with the wider team to raise the standard of low-cost delivery across the network. Requires the ability to deliver high-impact campaigns through strategic partnerships, organic social strategy, earned media, and creative content, without reliance on significant paid budgets.
• Measurement and evaluation: Define clear KPIs at the outset of every campaign and use analytics tools to monitor performance in real time, ensuring activity remains on track to deliver against commercial and communications objectives. Translate data into concise, actionable recommendations for senior stakeholders and use evaluation findings to continuously optimise live campaigns and improve future planning. Requires experience setting meaningful metrics beyond vanity measures, with confidence using digital analytics platforms to assess impact and make evidence-based decisions.
• Sector and Stakeholder Relationship Management: Act as a trusted marketing advisor and internal consultant to North American Sector team members in Tech, Creative Media & Sports, and other major event teams, ensuring marketing output is closely aligned with commercial trade and investment goals. Collaborate with colleagues in North America and the UK to improve efficiencies and ensure activities are coordinated. Work with senior diplomats, UK government officials, and high-profile business leaders to leverage their platforms for campaign amplification — including op-eds, speaking engagements, and social media activity. Build and maintain relationships with key corporate sponsors, trade associations, and transatlantic business networks to co-deliver and amplify joint initiatives. Work with other team members to evaluate and report on campaign progress and outcomes, embedding learning into ongoing activity. Support cross-team projects to advance UK economic and trade policy goals, and perform other duties as assigned. Requires confident working directly with technical sector specialists and senior leaders to translate complex briefs into compelling, audience-appropriate marketing strategies.

Requirements

• Strong written and editorial skills, with the ability to communicate complex trade or sector topics clearly and compellingly.
• Proven experience managing integrated B2B marketing campaigns across multiple channels, with a track record of delivering against commercial objectives (3-5 years).
• Experience managing external agencies and holding suppliers to account on quality and budget.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver high-impact, low-and-no-cost marketing initiatives through creative use of owned channels, partnerships, and earned media.
• Strong analytical skills and confidence using data to evaluate campaign performance and inform future strategy.
• Adaptable, collaborative team player with excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities at pace.
• Enthusiasm for working for the UK Government and with international commercial and diplomatic partners.
• Reliable, capable under pressure, with a good understanding of the challenges, sensitivities, and discretion required of working in the world of government and diplomacy.

Preferred

• Experience marketing within the Tech or Creative/Sports industries.
• An understanding of transatlantic trade and investment dynamics, or experience working within a diplomatic or government network.
• Familiarity with the North American media and digital landscape.
• Experience supporting high-profile VIP events with marketing and communications activity.
• Familiarity with the UK’s system of government and political system.
• Good grasp of general economic policies; general understanding of trade policy, trade and investment promotion.
