Job Summary

Own the Education Abroad Office’s recruitment, digital presence, and ambassador network to drive student outreach and program participation, coupling data-driven planning with campus partnerships and events.

  • Recruitment & Outreach: plan and optimize campus-wide recruitment and targeted programs, including exchange and instructor-led offerings.
  • Digital & Brand Presence: manage social content, website, and annual report design to support student engagement.
  • Ambassadors & Partnerships: lead peer ambassador program and maintain strategic campus relationships to boost on-campus reach.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Creates and manages office-wide student recruitment plan(s). Gathers and maintains data related to the effectiveness of recruitment activities. Identifies new avenues for recruitment of students. Develops and manages targeted outreach plans for special programs, including exchange programs, instructor-led programs, and similar strategic priorities. Manages the Education Abroad Fair and coordinates the EAO’s participation in U101, New Student Orientation, and USC Admissions events. Coordinates and/or provides support for additional events throughout the year.
  • Oversees the EAO’s engagement on all relevant social media platforms. Develops and implements a 12-month content calendar for social media. Monitors engagement metrics and makes adjustments accordingly. Acts as site manager for the EAO website and works directly with advising staff responsible for various content development. Identifies other avenues for digital engagement with students. Oversees the design of the EAO Annual Report. Leads the EAO’s graphic design efforts and supports other staff in their projects involving graphic design.
  • Oversees the hiring and training and provides ongoing support for the EAO’s peer ambassadors. Oversees the peer ambassadors’ activities to maximize their engagement and outreach efforts to students. Plans and supports returnee initiatives for EAO alumni in coordination with the Assistant Director for Advising and Programming.
  • Designs and delivers workshops, presentations, and resources for students in each phase of the education abroad experience, including outreach, application, pre-departure orientations, re-entry programming, and other topics as appropriate.
  • Coordinates schedules for visitors to campus from education abroad partners and affiliates. Represents EAO at University and office functions. Develops and maintains key relationships with strategic campus partners.

Requirements

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in a job related field and 2 or more years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience.

Preferred

  • Experience living, working, or studying abroad.
  • Experience designing and facilitating trainings, workshops, and orientation sessions.
  • Advanced degree.
  • Strong independent judgment, planning, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, effectively, tactfully with individuals at all levels.
  • Strong written, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability and discipline to handle confidential and personal information with discretion.
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong computer and presentation skills.
