Responsibilities

• Build and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective donors, sponsors, businesses, community partners, and other supporters.
• Cultivate relationships with existing donors and identify opportunities to deepen their engagement with the organization.
• Develop relationships with local businesses, civic and charitable organizations, chambers of commerce, universities, churches, nonprofits, and community leaders.
• Proactively identify and pursue new opportunities for financial support, sponsorships, partnerships, and community engagement.
• Conduct outreach and meetings with prospective donors, sponsors, and community partners.
• Make direct asks for sponsorships, event participation, and charitable contributions when appropriate.
• Maintain consistent follow-up and stewardship of donors, sponsors, and community partners.
• Track outreach, prospects, relationships, asks, and results.
• Serve as a visible ambassador throughout the Lexington community.
• Attend networking functions, community events, meetings, and public gatherings on behalf of the organization.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent relevant professional experience.
• Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following areas: fundraising, sales, business development, marketing, public relations, community relations, or partnership development.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to build relationships and develop new contacts.
• Comfort initiating conversations, conducting outreach, making asks, and following up with prospective supporters.
• Strong networking and relationship-building abilities.
• Self-motivated with the ability to independently identify and pursue opportunities.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to represent the organization professionally in diverse community settings.

Preferred

• Established professional or community network within Lexington and/or Central Kentucky.
• Experience in nonprofit fundraising, corporate sponsorships, business development, or sales.
• Experience planning and promoting fundraising or community events.
• Experience with social media marketing and content creation.
• Experience working with local businesses, civic organizations, chambers, nonprofits, or community organizations.
• Experience cultivating donors or managing donor relationships.
