Job Description

Responsibilities

  • The Marketing Coordinator supports the planning, development, and execution of marketing and communications initiatives for the Museum of Nebraska Art.
  • Answering to the Executive Director, this role is responsible for promoting exhibitions, educational programs, special events, membership opportunities, and community engagement efforts through a variety of advertising, digital marketing, and public relations strategies that align with the Mission of the MONA.
  • The Marketing Coordinator collaborates with internal departments, external vendors, media partners, and community organizations to strengthen MONA's public presence, increase audience engagement, and support institutional goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field with three years of related experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with social media management, email marketing, and digital content creation
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and marketing platforms such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop, WordPress or similar tools
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Experience in writing, editing, and producing brochures, newsletters, advertisements, and other print and digital materials
  • Familiarity with website content management systems and analytics tools
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and community partners
  • Passion for the arts, culture, and public programming

Preferred

  • Master's degree in marketing, communications, promotions, graphic design or related field with five years of experience
  • Experience working in an art museum, museum, arts organization, nonprofit, or cultural institution preferred
  • Knowledge of current arts marketing best practices articulated by the American Alliance of Museums or other professional organizations
  • Knowledge of audience engagement strategies and community outreach initiatives
  • Experience with photography, video editing, or graphic design for promotional purposes
  • Graphic Design Experience is preferred
