Salary: $23.00 - $26.00 per hour

Schedule: Monday - Friday, with occasional evening and weekend events as needed

In 1990, a small group of dedicated volunteers with a desire to eliminate substandard housing in our community founded San Gabriel Valley Habitat for Humanity. Thanks to our supporters, more than 200 local and international families have been able to build or repair their own homes here in Los Angeles’ San Gabriel Valley and beyond. Through the years, we have maintained our unrelenting determination to help families in need by offering a hand up, not a handout. Through donations, shopping at our ReStores, volunteering or adding a voice to support affordable housing, everyone can help families achieve the strength, stability, and self-reliance they need to build better lives for themselves.

Job Summary:

The Marketing Coordinator is a key member of the marketing team at San Gabriel Valley Habitat for Humanity and supports marketing, communications, fundraising, and administrative initiatives that help tell the organization’s story to internal and external stakeholders. This position assists with content creation, social media management, fundraising support, digital communications, and promotional efforts that advance the organization’s mission and community engagement. This position requires exceptional organizational skills, a positive and collaborative attitude, and the ability to effectively communicate and respond to questions regarding organizational programs and initiatives in a timely and professional manner.

Key Responsibilities

Marketing

  • Assist with the writing, design, and coordination of marketing and promotional materials.
  • Create, organize, and schedule social media content, including original graphics, photography, video, and written content.
  • Assist with content creation and maintenance of marketing and communications calendars.
  • Coordinate and organize content, photos, videos, and other materials submitted by team members for promotional and marketing purposes.
  • Assist with maintaining and updating the organization’s website to ensure content remains current and relevant.
  • Compile regular reporting, analytics, and performance metrics across marketing and social media platforms to support communication and marketing strategies.
  • Support fundraising campaigns, donor engagement initiatives, and marketing-related events.
  • Assist with marketing initiatives and promotional efforts related to SGV Habitat ReStores.
  • Prepare and coordinate digital and printed fundraising and marketing materials.

Administrative

  • Manage department calendars and maintain inventory of promotional and marketing materials.
  • Coordinate the collection and organization of digital assets, including videos, photographs, interviews, stakeholder quotes, and related materials.
  • Maintain and organize the organization’s Digital Asset Management System, including regular updates and backup efforts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field preferred.
  • One (1) to two (2) years of experience in marketing and communications within a fast-paced environment preferred.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of social media management experience required.
  • Experience within a nonprofit organization preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Basic knowledge of marketing and communications principles.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask, manage deadlines, and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Canva and familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and Premiere Pro, preferred.
  • Experience with WordPress, Squarespace, or similar website management platforms.
  • Experience with video editing and digital media content creation.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Creative, hands-on, and adaptable professional with a positive approach to work, strong work ethic, and the ability to successfully multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Positive, upbeat, and collaborative attitude with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed.
