Responsibilities

• Capture engaging photos and videos of adoptable pets, programs, services, events, staff, volunteers and community activities.
• Create and edit short-form video and social-first content for Instagram, Facebook and other digital channels.
• Help identify interesting stories, moments and content opportunities throughout AWS.
• Write social media captions and assist with scheduling and publishing content.
• Help maintain a steady pipeline of fresh photography, video and other creative assets for use across AWS marketing channels.
• Create written and visual content for social media, website pages, blogs, e-newsletters and other digital marketing needs.
• Monitor social media trends and bring forward creative ideas and new content formats for the team to consider.
• Engage appropriately with AWS’ online community and help monitor social media activity.
• Assist with the execution of marketing campaigns, promotions, fundraising initiatives, events and other organizational priorities.
• Support email marketing efforts by helping build and format emails, select imagery, prepare content and schedule sends.

Requirements

• This is an entry-level position. We don’t expect candidates to have years of professional marketing experience or to arrive knowing every platform and tool we use.
• We are looking for someone who brings strong creative fundamentals, curiosity, organization and a willingness to learn.

Preferred

• Experience with any of the following is helpful, but not required:
• WordPress or another website content management system
• Canva
• Adobe Creative Suite or other photo/video editing software
• Email marketing platforms
• Social media scheduling tools
• Content or editorial calendars
• Website and social media analytics
• Digital asset organization
• Event marketing
