Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Lead the team as it pertains to a communication and marketing strategy for ServeNebraska.
  • Work directly with media contacts, providing expertise consultation and support to the executive director on the best public relation strategies for the Commission
  • Create and implement promotional ideas and policies for the commission.
  • Provide strategies for the Commissions sub awardees and relay information from our federal partner about branding requirements, recruitment strategies, press releases and publications to broaden the reach of programing in Nebraska.
  • Develop and implement the informational and education programs of the agency to ensure that the public is kept informed of agency programs, projects, grants, awards, and grant notices.
  • Write, design, compose, edit, research, compile, and/or select copy and layout for informational/administrative pamphlets, or other publications, audio-visual materials, media release, displays, exhibits, and/or speeches, to organize data so that it will reach and be understood by the target audience.
  • Be involved in strategic planning, coordination of people and resources

Requirements

  • Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, marketing, public relations, advertising, graphic arts, digital media, videography, or related field and at least three years’ experience in developing, planning, and managing public relations/publicity campaigns, mass media communication activities, public information programs, and/or marketing/promotional campaigns. Required experience may substitute for education on a year for year basis.
  • Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

Preferred

  • Ability to communicate face to face, over the phone, through electronic means.
  • Must have a solid understanding of strategies to communicate with a variety of customers in a variety of modes, such as through social media, web based, newsletters, Public Service Announcements, fliers, project reports and annual reports, and/or surveys.
