Job Summary

Own the end-to-end communications and donor-facing marketing for a trauma-informed nonprofit, balancing content creation, media relations, events, and analytics to drive awareness and support among local communities.

  • Communications & Content: Plan and execute multichannel campaigns; manage digital and print content and ensure trauma-informed, consistent messaging.
  • Media & Partnerships: Draft press materials, coordinate media outreach, manage vendor relationships, and cultivate local business and civic ties.
  • Donor & Events Enablement: Support donor stewardship, plan fundraising events, and develop materials for online and offline campaigns.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute communications and marketing strategies that promote VSC’s mission, services, and programs
  • Develop and manage content for digital and print channels (website, social media, email campaigns, newsletters, outreach materials)
  • Draft and distribute press releases; coordinate media outreach; support public relations efforts
  • Manage marketing calendars and projects; collaborate with internal teams to highlight programs and success stories
  • Ensure consistent, trauma-informed messaging across all platforms
  • Monitor analytics; evaluate campaign performance
  • Manage vendor and partner relationships; support events, campaigns, and community awareness initiatives
  • Identify and cultivate relationships with local businesses and civic organizations
  • Assist with donor development, follow-up and stewardship activities
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute VSC events; develop and disseminate fundraising materials

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, public relations, communications or related discipline
  • Two years of experience in marketing, advertising, public relations, communications or a related field
  • Prior experience with WordPress and website management required
  • Experience creating newsletters, advertisements and campaigns utilizing Constant Contact or similar platforms
  • Experience writing, creating, posting, scheduling and managing social media content
  • Prior experience public speaking and performing community outreach activities preferred
  • Mastery of English language required
  • Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) preferred
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented and organized
  • Outgoing personality and professional appearance
