Job Summary

Own content across social, website, and blog for a nonprofit marketing program, coordinating families, events, and program storytelling while driving PR, media, and community engagement.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Develop and organize program-specific content for social media, website, and blog
  • Conduct interviews and draft Jett Giving Fund family highlights for Jett blog
  • Support families with marketing and communications activities (craft family stories for fundraising pages; create flyers)
  • Support PR/release drafting, media alerts, pitching, and follow-ups
  • Support camp team in highlighting camper and volunteer stories on blog
  • Support program team in marketing materials for workshops, webinars, and events
  • Manage and organize Jett Foundation’s social calendar and scheduling
  • Lead monthly brainstorming meetings to plan content ideas and editorial calendar
  • Assist in creation of organization-wide social content and curate content from staff and community partners/leaders
  • Moderate programmatic Facebook groups and disseminate pertinent information

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, or related coursework
  • 2+ years of marketing and communications experience
  • Proficiency using Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and Canva
  • Proficiency with social media tools (e.g. X, Facebook, Hootsuite) and with Google and Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Google Docs)
  • Experience with graphic design and content creation for social media, blogs, and websites
  • General administrative skills including computing, organizing, planning, scheduling
  • Ability to balance multiple tasks with quick turnaround times and adapt to shifting directions
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team

Preferred

  • Experience in small nonprofit preferred
  • Familiarity with the Duchenne community
  • Strong writing experience (short- and long-copy) and a passion for storytelling
  • Entrepreneurial attitude
