Job Summary

Own media relations and content operations for a museum marketing team with newsroom style PR tasks, social content support, and exhibit campaigns.

  • Media relations execution: draft releases, build media lists, and report coverage.
  • Content creation across social and campaigns: draft social content and support exhibits, events, and fundraising promotions.
  • Support operations and partnerships: coordinate visits, manage assets, and research community trends to feed campaigns.

Job Description

  • Assist with the development and distribution of press releases and media advisories.
  • Research media contacts and maintain media lists.
  • Monitor and compile media coverage and prepare media reports.
  • Draft social media content and assist with content calendars.
  • Write website copy, newsletters, blog articles, and promotional materials.
  • Assist with photography and videography coordination during Museum events.
  • Support marketing campaigns promoting exhibits, seasonal events, educational programming, and fundraising initiatives.
  • Conduct research on community partnerships, audience trends, and competitive organizations.
  • Assist in coordinating media visits, interviews, and special events.
  • Help organize marketing assets, digital files, and project timelines.
  • Current enrollment in an accredited college or university.
  • Major in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Advertising, Digital Media, English, or a related field.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Creativity, initiative, and a willingness to learn.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, and YouTube is preferred.
  • Experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, photography, or video editing is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with an award-winning Marketing Communications team.
