Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Helps develop and implement the annual communications calendar in partnership with the Marketing & Communications Manager.
  • Interviews, writes, and produces testimonials/feature stories. Includes: clients, agency partners, donors, volunteers, staff, and other constituents.
  • Writes clear, compelling, and creative communications that inspire people to donate, volunteer, and partner with Bridging.
  • Works closely with the Development team to promote Bridging’s signature events. Assists with fundraising activities as needed.
  • Supports consistent brand messaging and presence throughout the organization, logo, style guide, key messages, and organizational fact sheets.
  • Drafts, produces, and distributes organizational communications, including blogs, newsletters, manages internal printing requests, and other internal communications activities.
  • Able to communicate effectively with a diverse population of constituents.
  • Participates in community, partner, and fundraising events.
  • Manages social media channels, drafts posts, takes photos/videos for use in social media, website, or other purposes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations, or related fields.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in communications, marketing, and/or public relations.
  • Excellent software skills in Microsoft Suite are required.
  • Strong, detailed writing, proofreading, and editing copy.
  • Professional demeanor and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Demonstate flexible and efficient time management and the ability to prioritize workload. Strong self-motivator who takes initiative.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse population of constituents.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work some evenings and weekends, based on fundraising events and media/PR opportunities.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and vehicle insurance to attend off-site meetings and community events.

Preferred

  • Experience in mission-driven and non-profit organizations with a focus on basic needs is desired.
  • Preferred skills in graphic design, Canva, WordPress, social media schedulers, and other communications apps.
