Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day content operations across a diverse portfolio of clients in regulated and non-regulated industries
• Manage and mentor freelance writers, providing feedback that sharpens their SEO execution and editorial quality
• Collaborate with the technical SEO team to ensure content execution aligns with the broader search strategy
• Contribute to the development of content strategy, topic ideation, and quarterly production planning
• Shape and improve AI-assisted content workflows, from brief creation to editorial QA
• Participate in client-facing calls to align content strategy with broader SEO and marketing goals
• Pitch and implement workflow tools and process improvements that keep production running smoothly
• Ensuring alignment across client-facing Roadmaps, Asana, and other project management interfaces to shepherd the content lifecycle from brief to publication
• Ensuring timely content deliverable submissions from freelancers and editing of all content to MediaJel's service standards and quarterly production cadence
• Carrying out Quality Assurance checks for all content uploads

Requirements

• Have 3-5 years of editorial or content management experience, with at least 2 in an SEO-focused role
• Have experience managing freelance writers or contract contributors
• Have experience working in an agency environment, managing multiple clients, and competing priorities simultaneously
• Are trained in the art and science of grammar
• Have a firm grasp of SEO best practices for content and can coach writers in the execution of MediaJel’s standards
• Understand geolocated and local SEO tactics for content
• Are familiar with how AI is transforming the search landscape, from AI Overviews to evolving discovery patterns, and understand how the new landscape translates into content strategy
• Have experience editing AI-generated content and working within AI-assisted production workflows
• Thrive on organization, forward planning, and managing production workflows that operate on a quarterly cadence
• Have direct or transferable experience navigating content requirements for regulated industries

Preferred

• Experience with cannabis, hemp, or dispensary content
• Experience editing science-focused content for laypersons and assessing peer-reviewed sources for relevance and rigor
• Familiarity with ecommerce content, including product descriptions and collection pages
• Exposure to B2B2C business models
• Background in ad tech, martech, or SaaS content
