Job Description

Job Purpose
The manager is responsible for oversight of instructional technology and media services operations at all college campuses.
This is a non-exempt position and is primarily located at the Columbia Campus. The incumbent will travel to other Columbia State campuses as needed.
Essential Functions
  • Oversee operations and maintenance of desktop video conferencing equipment and software to ensure consistent functionality and user satisfaction.
  • Evaluate instructional presentation equipment periodically and recommend optimal configurations and upgrades to meet evolving instructional needs.
  • Plan and procure equipment, materials, and services to support ongoing improvements in media services.
  • Participate in regular training activities to maintain current knowledge and skills in media technologies and instructional support.
  • Prepare budget requests and manage expenditures to ensure operations remain within annual budget guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare reports as needed.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of all instructional presentation media equipment and supplies.
  • Update and manage content on the media services website to ensure information remains current and accessible.
  • Collaborate with the Dean of Academic Engagement and Innovation to plan and implement institutional support for instructional technology.
  • Direct and supervise the Coordinator of Media Services, Williamson Campus and Coordinator of Theater and Media Services to ensure seamless operations.
  • Provide development, oversight of programs and services that result in enrollment, progression, retention and graduation growth for the service area.
Supplemental Functions
  • Provide backup support to the Coordinators of Media Services as needed.
  • Participate in institutional and external committees as appropriate.
Required
Education, Training, and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in audiovisual technology, broadcasting, instructional technology or related area.
  • Minimum of five years of work experience in audiovisual technology, broadcasting, or instructional technology in an educational environment.

  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for resolving system issues.

  • Ability to relate to faculty, students, staff and public
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule
Working Conditions
  • Typical office environment with standard sitting and movement.
  • Occasional lifting and transporting of audiovisual and electronic equipment up to 25 pounds.
  • Travel required to all Columbia State campuses as needed.

Hiring Salary Range: $56,680 - $68,010
