Job Summary

Own cross-channel storytelling and earned media execution for a nonprofit mission, shaping audience-centered narratives that support campaigns, policy priorities and leadership visibility.

  • Integrated Communications & Storytelling: Align narratives across earned, owned and social channels with editorial coordination and cross-team collaboration.
  • Content Development & Storytelling: Translate complex program priorities into compelling assets for campaigns, donors and external positioning.
  • Earned Media Execution: Coordinate with media partners and reporters to surface timely opportunities for local and national impact stories.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Integrated Communications & Storytelling Amplification: Support cross-channel planning, amplification and editorial coordination to adapt organizational narratives into audience-centered content across earned, owned and social channels.
  • Content Development & Storytelling: Lead mission-driven content and storytelling assets that translate complex subjects into clear communications for campaigns, donor engagement and external positioning.
  • Earned Media & Public Relations Execution: Support earned media activities with reporter outreach, media monitoring and pitch preparation to elevate leadership and impact narratives locally and nationally.
  • Communications Operations & Project Management: Maintain messaging tools and editorial workflows; manage timelines and cross-functional collaboration to ensure campaigns are executed on priority.
  • Ambassador & Speaker Support: Develop briefs and training resources to prepare internal leaders for external representation.
  • Vendor & Division Communications Support: Coordinate communications vendors and partnerships to support donor engagement and amplification.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism or a related field required.
  • Minimum 4-7 years of professional experience in communications, public relations, marketing, journalism or storytelling-focused roles, preferably within a nonprofit, education, advocacy or mission-driven organization.
  • Exceptional writing, editing and storytelling skills with the ability to translate complex information into audience-centered communications.
  • Experience supporting earned media strategies, media outreach and public relations coordination.
  • Experience supporting integrated communications campaigns, digital storytelling and cross-functional initiatives preferred.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, workflows and deadlines.
  • Experience adapting content across digital, social, earned and owned channels.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and build strong working relationships with stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining brand consistency and messaging alignment.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with evolving priorities and ambiguity.
