Job Description

Job Summary: The Manager, Internal Communications will lead the development and execution of strategic communication initiatives that inform, engage, and inspire WMCHealth Network#s workforce across our nine hospital, eight-campus, academic health system. The individual leading this role is responsible for ensuring employees have timely, accurate, and relevant information to feel connected to the organization#s mission and culture, and stay up to date on network news. The right candidate will ensure internal communications efforts align seamlessly with the organization#s broader integrated communications approach. Reporting to the Senior Director of Network Communications, the Manager will serve as a trusted advisor to leadership, translating complex organizational priorities into clear, compelling messages and narrative. This position requires exceptional writing and editing skills, strong project management capabilities, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments while maintaining agility in a fast-paced healthcare environment. This individual will also assist in managing the network#s intranet, enterprise-wide and leadership emails, digital signage and more. # # Responsibilities: Strategic Planning # Execution Develop and implement comprehensive internal communication plans and tactics that drive results congruent with organizational goals and initiatives. Partner with Marketing/Communications colleagues to ensure seamless integration of campaigns across internal channels. Work closely and productively with regional and service line Marketing/Communications team members. Identify communication needs and create targeted, creative strategies to address them. Ensure internal messages and narratives are aligned appropriately across other Marketing/Communications efforts. Share updates and progress regularly. Content Development # Management Write, proofread, edit, format and distribute high-quality content, such as articles, blog posts, Q#As, and more for internal channels, including intranet (SharePoint), email campaigns, manager/leader toolkits, and digital signage. Ensure all content reflects WMCHealth#s brand voice and adheres to style and compliance standards. Support editorial management of intranet site content. Maintain the intranet homepage and key sections to ensure correct prioritization, accuracy and relevance. Liaise with internal Ambassadors to ensure their respective intranet content is regularly updated, current, engaging and adherent to governance. Develop journalistic-quality articles, employee spotlights, and patient stories to demonstrate how WMCHealth is living its mission and values. Project # Workflow Management Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met and deliverables are of the highest quality. Maintain editorial calendars and coordinate with cross-functional teams to align messaging across platforms. # Leadership # Stakeholder Engagement Partner with senior leaders to craft messaging for organizational announcements, strategic priorities, and change management initiatives. Proactively provide counsel on communication best practices to internal stakeholders. Event # Campaign Support Support planning and promotion of internal events such as quarterly town halls and leadership forums. Develop supporting event materials, including presentations, talking points, and FAQs. Crisis # Urgent Communications Support rapid-response communication needs during emergencies, sensitive issues, or critical organizational updates. Ensure timely dissemination of accurate information across all internal channels, maintaining transparency and authority. Measurement # Continuous Improvement Track and analyze engagement metrics for internal communication channels; prepare reports and recommendations for improvement. Conduct employee feedback surveys and evaluate feedback for insights. Monitor and analyze communication effectiveness; adjust strategies based on feedback and metrics. # Qualifications/Requirements: # Experience: 5+ years of experience in internal communications or corporate communications require Prior healthcare experience, preferred. Education: # Bachelor#s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or related field, required. Licenses / Certifications: N/A
