Job Summary

Own the firm’s PR and communications agenda, balancing media relations, crisis-ready messaging, and executive visibility to drive regional growth and media coverage.

  • PR strategy and stakeholder reporting: build and track plans with BD, marketing, and attorneys; report outcomes to leadership.
  • Media relations and press outreach: cultivate regional and national press, monitor calendars, and pitch opportunities.
  • Speaker preparation and social content oversight: train attorneys for media opportunities and support social campaigns to prove impact.

Job Description

  • Manage firm-wide strategic communications and media relations to raise regional visibility and create growth opportunities.
  • Develop written strategic communications plans including social media to announce new attorneys, product launches, and major initiatives.
  • Collaborate with business development managers, marketing, and attorneys to craft PR plans for practice groups and industry teams; provide status updates to stakeholders.
  • Assess communications effectiveness using analytics and report findings to stakeholders.
  • Draft, distribute, and follow up on firm press releases; announce new attorneys and senior staff; promote recognition; pitch to media; distribute firm insights.
  • Establish strong media relations with regional, national, legal, and trade outlets; review editorial calendars and surface opportunities.
  • Provide training and preparation support for attorney media opportunities or as a firm spokesperson.
  • Support the social media team and contribute to campaigns.
  • Manage content curation and recognition platforms such as Best Lawyers and Super Lawyers; identify opportunities for attorney recognition.
  • Research industry marketing trends to enhance media relationships across markets and trade press; support crisis communications as needed.
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field; 5+ years in a managerial role in a law firm or professional services.
  • Strong verbal and written communication; ability to respond to requests and concerns promptly.
  • Sound judgment, accountability, initiative, and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong analytical skills; strategic thinker capable of identifying synergies.
