Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Grow revenue through partnerships, sponsorships, and Accredited Business engagement that directly fund expanded Foundation programming
  • Develop creative pathways for Accredited Businesses to champion and participate in BBB's mission statewide
  • Build the Foundation's profile so businesses see it as a meaningful vehicle for community investment
  • Strengthening retention and brand recognition by making the BBB relationship more valuable than a plaque on the wall
  • Serve as a visible face of BBB Michigan in the business community - telling our story, opening doors, creating energy as our brand ambassador for BBB of Michigan
  • Build long‑term relationships with corporate partners, sponsors, and industry leaders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue goals
  • Three to seven years of experience in business development, membership sales, fundraising, or sponsorship sales
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and close revenue opportunities
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Experience using CRM or Association Management Systems

Preferred

  • Experience working with or for a 501(c)(6), trade association, chamber of commerce, or nonprofit organization
  • Knowledge of membership‑based business models
  • Experience selling sponsorships, advertising, or event‑related revenue
  • Past Better Business Bureau experience
