Reports to: Director of OperationsAbout the role

About The Uncommon Business

We're a profitable, fast-growing AI-first education company teaching business leaders to build intelligent systems. Fully remote team, EOS-driven operating system, and promotion based on impact and ownership, not tenure.

The Uncommon Business runs multi-8-figure product launches several times a year, and we're hiring one person to own every launch cycle end-to-end. The systems, team leads, and most of the playbooks already exist. Your job is to run them, sharpen them every cycle, and own the result.

This is launch ownership, not project coordination. Every launch is on your desk from the first planning meeting through the post-launch retrospective, and between launches you fix what broke so it never breaks twice.

What you'll do

  • Own the full launch calendar: 3 to 4 major launch cycles per year, each 10 to 12 weeks
  • Build launch plans months ahead of go-live with buy-in from every department head
  • Run weekly cross-team dependency reviews and catch gaps weeks before they become fires
  • Run the daily launch-week war-room standup: 30 minutes, every blocker assigned an owner, every decision logged
  • Lead post-launch retrospectives and turn lessons into documented playbooks within 2 weeks
  • Manage cross-department capacity commitments (every team commits 25 to 50% of their time during launch surges) and resolve resource conflicts during peak
  • Ship the post-launch hardening list (what we fix, automate, or kill) before the next cycle starts
  • Send weekly launch status reports to the Director of Operations: what's on track, what's slipping, what needs a decision

What you'll need

  • 5+ years in launch management, program management, or marketing operations
  • You've owned at least one launch cycle at multi-8-figure revenue ($35M+) and shipped it on time, more than once
  • Experience running cross-functional teams through high-pressure, deadline-driven cycles
  • A documentation habit: you build playbooks others can run without you
  • Experience in fully remote, fast-moving companies (online education, e-learning, or digital product launches a plus)
  • Calm under pressure. You run tighter, not looser, when things get hot

How success is measured

  • Every launch milestone hits the date it was committed, with QC checklists done 48 hours before go-live
  • Recurring failures shrink every cycle, and nothing breaks three launches in a row
  • No team member discovers a critical dependency in the last 72 hours
  • New contractors onboard from your playbooks, not from meetings with you

Schedule expectations (read this before applying)

Launch cycles run 10 to 12 weeks, 3 to 4 times per year, and they are intense. During a cycle you'll need to be available 7 AM to 7 PM (US time zones), with extra hours around live events and debriefs. Between cycles the pace eases and the work shifts to preparing for the next one.

We post this up front because this pace is not for everyone, and that's okay. The people who thrive here want high accountability and high impact, and they get both.
