Job Description

Responsibilities

Produce and publish social posts across all platforms, including: Headlines, captions, and teases
Vertical and horizontal video
Graphics and thumbnails
Reels, TikToks, Shorts, carousels, and live updates
Create and monitor live streams on YouTube and Facebook
Package newsroom content (breaking news, enterprise, features) into engaging social formats.
Maintain daily posting cadence across KSL’s social accounts.
Monitor posts for accuracy, engagement, and community response.
Looking for opportunities to live stream.
Participate in real-time coverage for breaking news and major events.

Requirements

1–3 years of experience in social media, digital content creation, or video production.
Proven ability to create content for multiple social platforms in a professional or brand setting.
Strong writing and editing skills tailored to social platforms.
Experience with basic video editing and graphic tools (CapCut, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, etc.).
Solid understanding of best practices for Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X, and YouTube.
Ability to work quickly and calmly in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Flexibility to work occasional nights, weekends, or holidays for major news events or station priorities.

Preferred

Experience working in a newsroom or media organization.
Knowledge of Utah, local issues, and KSL’s audience.
Familiarity with social analytics tools (native insights, YouTube Studio, etc.).
Comfort appearing on-camera occasionally (not required but a plus).
