Job Summary

Own the look and feel of luxury ecommerce copy across email, homepage, and site content, translating merchandising priorities into brand-right storytelling that drives performance.

  • Copy Ownership: Create elevated, concise, and commercially relevant writing for emails, homepage placements, landing pages, banners, and site-wide comms.
  • Collaboration and Testing: Align with Merchandising and Performance teams on calendars and campaigns; test subject lines and site messaging to lift engagement and conversions.
  • Research and QA: Inform copy direction with trends, designer brands, and product details; proofread for accuracy, tone, and consistency.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Write fresh, elevated copy for FWRD and Men’s daily emails, homepage placements, landing pages, web banners, app placements, navigation updates, and site-wide communication.
  • Support copy needs for New Arrivals, designer features, trend stories, seasonal edits, product-driven campaigns, and merchandising initiatives.
  • Translate merchandising priorities, featured brands, and product assortments into compelling customer-facing copy.
  • Ensure all copy maintains a consistent FWRD and Men’s voice: elevated, concise, polished, fashion-forward, and commercially relevant.
  • Partner with the Digital Merchandising & Performance team to understand weekly and monthly content calendars, product priorities, key business categories, and campaign timing.
  • Research designer brands, seasonal trends, product details, and competitive luxury ecommerce messaging to inform copy direction.
  • Assist with copy for Homepages, emails, curated shops, landing pages, brand pages, promotional placements, and special projects as needed.
  • Proofread and QA copy for grammar, spelling, product accuracy, designer names, formatting, tone, and overall brand consistency.
  • Take direction and feedback from the Director of Digital Merchandising & Performance, Copywriter, Merchandising team, and cross-functional creative partners.
  • Track competitor messaging and bring forward relevant ideas for FWRD Women’s and men’s email, homepage, and site content.
  • Support testing opportunities for subject lines, email copy, site messaging, and other copy-driven optimizations when applicable.
  • Manage multiple deadlines within the weekly content workflow while maintaining accuracy and quality.

Requirements

  • Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and grammar skills.
  • Strong understanding of luxury fashion, designer brands, ecommerce, and digital customer behavior.
  • Ability to write in an elevated, concise, brand-right voice.
  • Excellent attention to detail, especially around product accuracy, designer names, grammar, formatting, and tone.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to complete work under short deadlines.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated and able to complete tasks independently while also collaborating with a team.
  • Comfortable receiving feedback and revising copy quickly.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with merchandising, creative, buying, retention, and site partners.
  • Interest in performance-driven content and understanding how copy supports ecommerce goals.

Nice to Have

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Degree in communications, journalism, English, marketing, fashion, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience writing for ecommerce, fashion, luxury retail, editorial, email, or digital marketing.
  • Familiarity with luxury ecommerce competitors
  • Experience with email marketing, homepage/site copy, product storytelling, or merchandising-driven content.
  • Basic understanding of performance metrics such as email engagement, click-through rate, conversion, and revenue is a plus.
