Job Description

Lead international media relations and crisis communications to advance the Center's strategic objectives.

  • Own media relations strategy and execution across international outlets and events.
  • Provide functional support and advice to senior leaders on strategic media matters.
  • Manage crisis communications, reputational risk, and response activities.
  • Develop and execute media plans, partnerships, media visits, interviews, op-eds, and media calls.
  • Prepare media plans, communications briefings, and Q&A materials for spokespersons and management.
  • Coordinate media visits, interviews, and background briefings.
  • Develop press releases and other media materials communicating the Center’s objectives.
  • Provide on-site media relations support during international events, conferences, and Center activities.
  • Respond to media inquiries in a timely and effective manner.
  • Identify opportunities to engage media on high-value projects and proactive storytelling.
  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 8 years in journalism, media relations, or communications, including agency or in-house arts/culture experience.
  • Experience in international media relations and strategic communications.
  • Crisis communications, reputational risk, and response management.
  • Strong networking and relationship management skills.
  • Understanding of the media and PR landscape; ability to perform under pressure.
  • Experience in the Middle East and North Africa region preferred; Arabic language knowledge preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and detail-oriented with accountability.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to handle confidential topics with discretion.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple requests and maintain networks across global outlets.
  • Experience working in the Middle East and North Africa region is preferred.
  • Familiarity with the Arabic language is preferred.
