Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Research target markets to drive ticket sales and audience growth for Carnegie Hall programs, including genre or event-specific markets, tourism operators and leaders, and recruitment of quality candidates for WMI initiatives.
  • Assist with data integrity and list management; conduct outbound phone calls to confirm organizational contacts.
  • Identify media outlets or organizations that may penetrate specific target market segments.
  • Update concert, event, or audition listings on all applicable websites; identify new opportunities and platforms to promote concerts, events, and programs.
  • Assist with experiential marketing activities including pre- and post-concert receptions and represent Carnegie Hall at community events.
  • Other tasks, duties, or projects as assigned. The intern will also have the opportunity to propose and present a culminating project, determined by an individual’s area of interest and expertise and the marketing team’s needs.

Requirements

  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills including written and verbal communications.
  • Impeccable attention to detail and excellent organizational skills with the capacity for learning new skills
  • Excellent time management along with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Preferred

  • Understanding of various local community cultural interests; knowledge of classical, jazz, and orchestral artists and organizations a plus – but not a requirement.
  • Positive outlook, solution-oriented, and enthusiastic about marketing and the performing arts highly preferred.
  • Computer skills – Microsoft Office, Outlook, Tessitura, etc.
