Job Summary

Own local growth and end-to-end deal flow in the field, turning office demand signals into expansion and referrals while collaborating with National Accounts and central teams.

  • Own the full sales motion from discovery to onboarding, with a focus on offices, dining capacity, and employee participation.
  • Turn field intel into expansion bets and referral engines, aided by SDRs and local grassroots marketing.
  • Build a local community and feedback loop to inform cuisine, operations, and central strategy.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Map and prioritize office opportunities across your city, tracking building types, employee count, density, and decision maker access.
  • Own deals from first meeting through close and beyond, guiding discovery, pitches, proposals, signature, onboarding, and initial operations.
  • Collaborate with SDRs on territory prioritization and shape outreach using on-the-ground market knowledge.
  • Run a consultative sales process to align Picnic needs with client goals.
  • Visit Picnic locations to assess on-site experience and identify improvements to boost ordering.
  • Identify expansion within existing accounts, adding offices, more dining slots, and higher participation.
  • Partner with National Accounts to share field observations and flag growth or churn risks.
  • Turn happy customers and admins into referrers for new buildings and companies.
  • Coordinate with central restaurant teams on market cuisine choices considering facility constraints.
  • Bring back local demand signals on cuisines, employee preferences, and operational feasibility by building type.
  • Plan and run grassroots marketing activities including flyering, pop-ups, samplings, happy hours, and admin events.
  • Build a Picnic community across social, industry channels, and in-person activations.
  • Capture competitor moves and employee behavior insights to inform the central team.

Requirements

  • 2 or more years in a growth, sales, business development, partnerships, or account expansion role.
  • Bachelor’s from a top university.
  • Proven ability to run a deal from first meeting through close and own the full sales motion.
  • Demonstrable experience building and maintaining professional relationships.
  • Strong communicator capable of engaging executives, building managers, admins, and community leaders.
  • Highly organized with the ability to juggle live pipeline, field visits, marketing activations, and outreach.
  • Comfortable with data; proficient in Google Sheets, dashboards, and basic funnel metrics.
  • Self-starter who does not wait to be told what to do.

Nice to Have

  • Experience at an early-stage startup.
  • Background in food, hospitality, real estate, or local community ecosystems.
  • Experience working alongside or managing SDRs.
  • Event planning or grassroots marketing experience.
  • Familiarity with CRM tools or operations platforms.
