Responsibilities

• Own the games communications strategy end to end, including product launches, partner announcements, industry moments, and executive visibility
• Build and maintain relationships across the games ecosystem, becoming the go-to contact for trade reporters, consumer games media, creators, streamers, and podcasters who cover our space
• Lead communications for tentpole product moments, from positioning and press strategy through creator activations and launch-day execution
• Translate product and technical news into stories the industry wants to cover and players actually care about
• Proactively find and develop stories from across the business that show where Unity and the games industry are heading
• Coordinate cross-functional moments across PR, social, creator, and community channels so every launch lands as one campaign
• Track, measure, and report on performance to inform strategy and demonstrate impact

Requirements

• A track record of communications work in or covering the games industry, in a company, agency, or newsroom setting
• Established relationships across games media and the creator ecosystem — trade and business reporters, consumer games press, content creators, streamers and podcasters
• Fluency in how the games business works: platforms and storefronts, publishing and distribution, live services and monetization
• Experience taking either B2B or consumer-facing products to market, with launches that landed with both press and audiences
• Experience owning a communications portfolio independently and setting its direction, not just executing against someone else’s plan
• Effective written and verbal communication, including the ability to write in an executive's voice and adapt tone across formats
• Comfort working on confidential, unannounced products and managing sensitive launch timelines
• A proactive, curious approach to finding stories rather than only reacting to them

Preferred

• Experience across both B2B and consumer communications, and comfort switching registers between them
• Experience running communications around major industry events and tentpole launch moments
• Experience coaching or preparing executives for public-facing moments
• Experience working for global publicly-traded companies
