Hyrizon Group is seeking talented freelance writers to contribute to our media properties - Inside Northside Magazine, Life on the Northshore Magazine, Northshore Parent Website, and more - that celebrate the people, businesses, culture, and stories that make our community unique.

If you’re passionate about storytelling and skilled at capturing the spirit of a place through compelling narratives, we’d love to hear from you.

Writers will be assigned a variety of editorial projects, including:

• Cover Artist Profiles: In-depth, engaging features highlighting local creatives and thought leaders.
• Feature Stories: Well-researched articles on lifestyle topics such as arts & culture, food & drink, wellness, travel, and local trends.
• Business Profiles: Story-driven spotlights on local entrepreneurs and established businesses.
• Community Pieces: Human-interest stories and coverage of community events, initiatives, and changemakers.
• Parenting Blog Posts: Short, topic-driven pieces relevant to the parenting experience on the Northshore.
• Assignments may range from 100–1,500+ words depending on the piece.

• Conduct interviews (phone, Zoom, and/or in-person)
• Perform background research to ensure accuracy
• Meet agreed-upon deadlines
• Write clear, compelling, and well-structured articles
• Incorporate editorial feedback professionally and efficiently

• Portfolio of published work (print or digital)
• Experience writing profiles, features, or lifestyle content preferred
• Excellent interviewing and storytelling skills
• Ability to capture voice, tone, and regional character
• Reliable, organized, and deadline-driven
• Experience with regional publications is a plus, but not required.

Freelance, per-assignment compensation.
