Job Summary

Own Vermont Public’s community presence as a brand ambassador and event lead, coordinating experiences that move audiences from awareness to loyalty.

  • Brand ambassador and event ownership to design welcoming booths, tours, and audience-facing experiences.
  • Manage the community calendar, vet submissions, curate listings, and track participation to drive improvements.
  • Coordinate cross-team outreach and travel to events with metrics that guide future outreach.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Serve as an enthusiastic brand ambassador for Vermont Public, representing our mission, programming and community value with warmth and professionalism at community events across the region.
  • Recommend and help select community events, performances and tabling opportunities that align with Vermont Public’s audience engagement goals.
  • Support fundraising and other mission-aligned activities as needed and appropriate.
  • Help design creative, welcoming booth and table experiences that introduce new audiences to Vermont Public and deepen loyalty among existing fans and supporters.
  • Work with internal teams to develop, coordinate and host interactive station tours and educational visits.
  • Manage Vermont Public’s online community calendar by vetting and approving submissions, and curating listings to feature on other platforms.
  • Perform other marketing and engagement duties as assigned, including support for e-newsletters, promotional materials and branded swag.
  • Track event participation, audience engagement and other key metrics; evaluate results and recommend improvements to strengthen future outreach.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years in events, marketing or related experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage a variety of audiences in person.
  • Demonst­rated ability to represent an organization professionally in public settings
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple events and priorities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with colleagues and external partners.
  • Proficiency with standard digital tools, including email, calendars, and office software.
  • Familiarity with design and email tools such as Canva and Mailchimp.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be able to travel throughout the state of Vermont and occasionally to New Hampshire, New York, and Canada to host and support community events, with reliable transportation to meet scheduled work assignments.
  • Possess or have the ability to obtain and maintain a valid passport for business travel to/from Canada.
  • Ability to safely drive for extended periods, including during evening hours and in varying weather conditions such as rain, snow, and winter driving conditions.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in diverse environmental conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow, as some events are held outside year-round.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed
