Job Summary

Own a hands-on, multi-channel internship that blends social content, content creation, and community outreach to advance GBH Education programs.

  • Social & Content Execution: draft posts and assets for Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and Threads to promote productions and educational resources.
  • Outreach & Partnerships: help craft emails and toolkits for schools, libraries, and community groups, and support event logistics.
  • Research & Ops: monitor trends in children’s media and education tech to surface new outreach opportunities and partnerships.

Job Description

  • Social Media Marketing: Draft engaging content for channel platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Threads) to promote GBH Education productions, educational resources, and community initiatives.
  • Content Creation: Collaborate with teams to produce images, short-form videos (Reels/TikToks), and graphics using tools like Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Email Marketing: Assist in drafting, formatting, and proofreading monthly or bi-weekly newsletters.
  • Website & CMS Support: Help update educational landing pages, blog posts, and resource hubs with fresh copy, links, and promotional banners.
  • Event Coordination: Provide logistical and promotional support for local and national events, including screening parties, educator workshops, and community festivals.
  • Partner Communications: Help draft outreach emails and distribute promotional toolkits to schools, libraries, and grassroots organizations.
  • Material Distribution: Assist with the distribution of educational toolkits, branded swag, and print materials for community engagement campaigns.
  • Industry Research: Stay on top of current trends in children's media, educational technology, and public broadcasting to identify new outreach opportunities or partnerships.
  • Competitor Analysis: Conduct periodic reviews of what other educational media entities are doing to engage parents and teachers.
  • Meeting Coordination: Help prepare agendas, take detailed notes during cross-functional marketing meetings, and track action items.
  • Must be undergraduate or graduate student
  • Work authorization for United States
  • Local to the Boston area and able to commute to GBH offices in Brighton
  • Own computer and access to Wifi
