Job Summary
Own and shape Moody College storytelling by writing web content, coordinating with the communications manager, and covering events as part of a publishing-focused workflow.
- Write articles and Q&As for the Moody College website, aligned with marketing and communications direction
- Meet deadlines to maintain the publishing schedule and manage edits from the communications manager
- Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications team and contribute to event coverage
Job Description
Responsibilities
- Work with the Marketing and Communication team to identify storytelling opportunities.
- Receive assignments and direction from communications manager to write content for the Moody College website, including articles and Q&As with students, faculty and alumni.
- Attend and contribute to event coverage for web stories.
- Deliver stories on deadline to maintain publishing schedule.
- Receive and incorporate edits from communications manager.
Requirements
- Rising junior or senior at UT Austin
- Strong writing and interviewing skills
- Deadline-driven
- Self-motivated but comfortable seeking direction and working as part of a team
- Familiarity with Moody College
- Preferred professional writing experience or journalism background
- Experience with AP Style
Preferred
- An ability to use one’s own judgement and work with moderate direction.
- Creative and willing to pitch story ideas.
