Job Summary

Own and drive PMI U.S. commercial communications by shaping strategy, aligning cross-functional plans, and guiding media and content across paid/earned/owned channels to accelerate product launches, market expansion, and executive visibility.

  • Strategic leadership: define the communications roadmap and partner with commercial leadership to shape positioning and narrative.
  • Integrated planning & execution: deliver cross-channel plans, ensure messaging consistency, and oversee content across platforms.
  • Media & external engagement: manage proactive/reactive media relations and coordinate with agencies to maximize reach and credibility.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead a comprehensive commercial communications strategy aligned to business priorities and growth objectives
  • Serve as the strategic communications partner to commercial leadership, shaping positioning and narrative
  • Lead the development and delivery of integrated communications plans for commercial initiatives, including product launches, market expansions and category education initiatives, with strict adherence to regulatory and corporate guidelines
  • Oversee message development, positioning, and consistent tone and voice across all commercial communications channels
  • Guide the creation of content across paid, earned, shared, and owned platforms, ensuring impact and alignment
  • Oversee proactive and reactive media relations for all commercial initiatives, including executive visibility and thought leadership
  • Lead coordination with agencies partners and external stakeholders to drive reach, credibility, and relevance
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional partners—including marketing, sales, regulatory, operations, legal, and executive leadership—to ensure clear, consistent, and effective communications
  • Lead internal communications tied to commercial operations, including leadership updates, key initiatives, and organizational changes
  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing commercial communications team, fostering a culture aligned with PMI DNA

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in corporate and/or consumer communications, with at least five years in a senior leadership role.
  • Experience in commercial or product-focused environments, preferably in industries such as consumer goods, healthcare, or technology.
  • Strategic thinking with a strong understanding of commercial business drivers.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong strategic planning, organization, and media relations capabilities.
  • Proven ability to manage complex, cross-functional projects within a matrixed organization.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization.
  • Experience with digital communication platforms and analytics tools.
  • High emotional intelligence and adaptability in fast-paced environments.

Nice to Have

  • Prior experience within a regulatory setting or regulated industry is preferred.
