Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Integrated Marketing Strategy + Campaign Leadership
  • Develop and lead annual and seasonal integrated marketing strategies that support MOPOP’s mission, exhibitions, programs, events, membership, philanthropy, sponsorship commitments, attendance, and earned-revenue goals.
  • Own end-to-end campaign planning and execution across paid, owned, and partner channels, establishing objectives, audiences, messaging, deliverables, timelines, budgets, KPIs, and post-campaign learnings.
  • Maintain the enterprise marketing calendar and create clear campaign briefs, roles, decision points, and service expectations for cross-functional partners.
  • Partner with the Vice President, Marketing, Brand + Communications and the Public Relations + Communications function to ensure campaign strategy, brand positioning, messaging, and external communications are coordinated and mutually reinforcing.
  • Use audience insights, market trends, competitive information, visitation patterns, and campaign performance to recommend marketing priorities and optimize investment.
  • Creative Studio Leadership + Operations
  • Lead MOPOP’s internal creative studio, creating an effective operating model for the intake, prioritization, development, review, production, and delivery of marketing creative.
  • Provide leadership and direction across copywriting, graphic design, creative content, and marketing project management, ensuring work is strategically aligned, on brand, accessible, audience-centered, and delivered on time.
  • Establish creative briefs, project scopes, workflows, production schedules, review cycles, and service-level expectations that balance institutional priorities with team capacity.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of progressive experience in integrated marketing, brand marketing, digital marketing, advertising, or related disciplines, including at least 3 years leading a layered or multidisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrated experience leading an internal creative studio, creative services function, agency team, or comparable high-volume creative workflow involving copy, design, content, and production.
  • Strong experience developing and executing integrated campaigns across paid, owned, and partner channels, with demonstrated ability to connect marketing strategy to measurable audience and revenue outcomes.
  • Hands-on knowledge of media planning and buying across digital and traditional channels, including budgeting, negotiation, audience targeting, optimization, agency/vendor management, and performance reporting.
  • Strong understanding of digital advertising, web and campaign analytics, email/lifecycle marketing, social media, customer segmentation, audience development, conversion optimization, and testing strategies.
  • Experience establishing creative briefs, project intake and prioritization processes, production schedules, review cycles, and stakeholder expectations in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and track KPIs, translate data into insights, and communicate performance and recommendations to executive and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience managing meaningful marketing, media, agency, and/or production budgets.
  • Excellent project and change-management skills, with the ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on execution and multiple concurrent priorities.
  • Ability to navigate diverse communication styles, build trust across functions, and engage audiences and colleagues from diverse racial, ethnic, socioeconomic, and cultural backgrounds.

Preferred

  • Experience in a museum, cultural institution, entertainment, attraction, nonprofit, or other audience-driven organization is preferred but not required.
