Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Growth & Brand Strategy: Lead integrated campaigns supporting major gifts, annual giving, and sponsorships.
  • Digital Experience & Content: Generate campaigns, storytelling, and materials for events and program growth.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Align communications with development strategy, board engagement, and internal priorities.
  • Marketing Operations: Evolve the function with modern systems, brand voice, and cohesive multi-channel execution.
  • Audience & Impact: Create content that resonates with families, donors, corporate partners, foundations, volunteers, and community stakeholders.
  • Measurement & Optimization: Monitor digital performance and adjust strategy based on data insights.
  • Vendor & Tool Management: Oversee external partners and AI/digital tools to sharpen content and campaigns.
  • Executive & Stakeholder Communications: Support leadership with speeches, press materials, and board-level updates.
  • Event Marketing Alignment: Support signature fundraising events with cohesive messaging and sponsorship materials.
  • Internal Communications: Provide guidance and systems to strengthen alignment across staff, programs, and leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required
  • At least 6 to 10 years of progressive experience in marketing, communications, or brand leadership, with success driving engagement and revenue in mission-driven environments
  • Experience developing integrated marketing strategies aligned to growth and revenue goals
  • Proven ability to elevate brand positioning and drive measurable engagement across digital and traditional channels
  • Strong experience creating high-impact marketing collateral and campaigns
  • Exceptional writing and storytelling skills for diverse donor and stakeholder audiences
  • Experience managing digital platforms and analyzing performance metrics to inform strategy
  • Track record overseeing external vendors or agencies to deliver quality creative work
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; a writing sample may be required
  • Proficiency with modern marketing tools and willingness to lead AI integrations
  • Comfort with standard software and the ability to learn database systems quickly
  • Self-starter who can work independently and in teams, with strong time management under tight deadlines
  • Creative thinker with attention to detail and design
  • Ability to collaborate with Development team, staff, volunteers, the public, and partners

Preferred

  • Experience in nonprofit fundraising environments with alignment between marketing and development strategy
  • Knowledge of philanthropic communications, donor engagement, and campaign-based marketing
  • Familiarity with marketing automation, SEO/SEM, paid social campaigns, and digital growth strategies
  • Experience integrating emerging technologies, including AI-driven tools, to enhance content and performance
