Job Summary

Own the strategy, brand voice, and cross-channel storytelling for a nonprofit, driving coordinated marketing and fundraising messaging with program partners and media visibility.

  • Campaigns and content production focused on donors, clients, and partners with data-informed targeting

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Create and manage a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy to ensure a cohesive brand and voice
  • Collaborate with development and program leadership to develop, prioritize, and execute marketing/communications plans aligned with each department’s goals
  • Collaborate with Director of Annual Giving to integrate fundraising messaging in publications, campaigns, social media, and website
  • Oversee email communication strategy, content quality, and list development
  • Build and maintain relationships with media outlets, pitch stories, and manage crisis communication
  • Identify and secure earned media opportunities in collaboration with leadership
  • Lead publicity, advertising, and promotional activities for programs or online initiatives
  • Produce all marketing materials, videos, and promotional content
  • Ensure all CIS-GTC materials adhere to brand standards, including national CIS standards
  • Design and execute data-informed marketing campaigns to drive awareness, engagement, and support

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or related field
  • Advanced degree preferred
  • Proven experience in nonprofit marketing, public relations, and brand management
  • Strong leadership, strategic planning, and project management skills
  • Expertise in media relations, content creation, and digital marketing
  • Ability to tell compelling stories, manage crises, and build relationships with stakeholders
  • Experience with CRM, email marketing platforms, social media management, and analytics tools
  • Computer Skills: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint); Canva; Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator)

Preferred

  • Advanced degree preferred in addition to bachelor’s (marketing, communications, journalism, or related field)
