Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Content Strategy and Storytelling: Lead the development and oversight of all organizational content, form student stories and program impact into compelling, on-brand narratives across platforms while ensuring clarity, consistency, and strong calls to action
  • Social Media Oversight: Direct social media strategy and execution across platforms, managing content calendars, approving all digital content, guiding visual storytelling, and optimizing performance through data-driven insights
  • Campaign Strategy: Lead messaging and creative direction for major campaigns, developing and executing integrated, donor-focused strategies across digital and print channels while ensuring cohesive branding and high-impact engagement
  • Creative Direction: Oversee the creation of all visual assets, designing print and digital materials while maintaining brand consistency and guiding photography, video, and overall creative storytelling
  • Website Development: Manage website content, structure, and performance by building and updating pages, optimizing user experience and conversion pathways, and maintaining effective communication flows and site functionality
  • Fundraising & Event Support: Develop and execute messaging, branding, and creative assets for fundraising events, supporting sponsorship growth and contributing to cohesive event storytelling and promotion
  • Data Management: Organize and maintain data, preparing structured datasets to support marketing initiatives, campaigns, and organizational needs
  • Cross-Cultural Communication: Collaborate with U.S. and Zambia-based teams to ensure accurate, respectful, and culturally sensitive storytelling across all communications
  • Special Projects & Brand Stewardship: Lead special creative projects while maintaining and evolving a consistent, dignified brand voice that clearly and compellingly communicates the organization’s mission

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 5+ years of experience in marketing, preferably within a nonprofit environment
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategies that drive nonprofit growth and engagement
  • Experience in managing team members, contractors and external vendors
  • Proficiency in BeeFree, Paperform, Salesforce, MailChimp, Google Workspace, Canva, and Adobe Creative Cloud
  • Experience working cross-culturally and coordinating with teams in different time zones
