Job Description

Responsibilities

  • The Parish of the Holy Eucharist, a vibrant Roman Catholic parish serving Falmouth and the surrounding communities of southern Maine, is seeking a full-time Director of Digital, Print and Social Engagement to lead and strengthen parish communications.
  • Reporting directly to the Pastor, the Director will develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy that supports the mission of the parish and helps connect parishioners and the wider community with the life of the Church.
  • The successful candidate will oversee the parish's digital and print communications, including the website, social media platforms, email communications, bulletin content, digital storytelling, photography, video, and other outreach efforts.
  • The ideal candidate is a creative and organized communicator who can tell the story of parish life in compelling ways while ensuring that information is accurate, timely, attractive, and consistent across all platforms.
  • This individual will work closely with clergy, staff, ministry leaders, volunteers, and diocesan partners to promote parish events, ministries, liturgies, and outreach opportunities.
  • The position also includes responsibility for maintaining parish branding, monitoring engagement analytics, coordinating communication volunteers, and identifying new opportunities to strengthen the parish's digital presence.

Requirements

  • Candidates should be practicing Roman Catholics who enthusiastically support the mission and teachings of the Church and possess strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • A bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, public relations, or a related field is preferred, along with at least three years of experience in communications, media, marketing, or a similar field.
  • Some evening and weekend availability is required to support parish events and activities.

  • A bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, public relations, or a related field is preferred
  • Experience with social media management, website content management systems, email marketing, graphic design platforms such as Canva or Affinity Publisher, photography, videography, and digital storytelling is highly desirable
