Under the guidance of the VP of Product, the Director of JRNY Content is the visionary leader responsible for the ideation, research, and execution of the feature set and content ecosystem for the JRNY app. This role oversees the future vision for user engagement across iOS, Android, and embedded Android console platforms. You will bridge the gap between fitness content production and technical feature development, ensuring a seamless, habit-forming experience that delights customers whether they are using a standalone tablet or integrated machine hardware. This is a leadership position requiring high-level strategic thinking and cross-functional execution.

Responsibilities:

Product Development:

• Define the Roadmap: Lead the multi-year vision for JRNY content features, including gamification, personalized coaching, and streaming video integration, and AI implementation.

• Feature Ideation: Research and define new features (e.g., social sharing, workout tracking, AI-driven recommendations) to increase user satisfaction and retention.

• Cross-Platform Parity: Ensure a consistent "look and feel" and feature set across iOS, mobile Android, and embedded Android consoles.

• Content Lifecycle Management: Oversee how content is tagged, categorized, and surfaced to users to ensure maximum discoverability.

Market Research:

• Market Analysis: Conduct continuous competitive analysis of the digital fitness landscape (Peloton, Apple Fitness+, Zwift) to identify market gaps.

• User Research: Construct testing methods for focus groups and A/B testing initiatives to gather qualitative and quantitative data on customer pain points.

• Trend Spotting: Identify emerging technologies (AR/VR, Biometric sensors, AI) that can be integrated into the JRNY ecosystem.

Execution & Collaboration:

• Design Leadership: Work with UI/UX designers to create low-fidelity wireframes and high-fidelity prototypes in Figma.

• Engineering Liaison: Translate product requirements into detailed technical "User Stories" for the engineering teams.

• Hardware Integration: Collaborate with the console hardware team to ensure software features perform optimally on embedded ARM-based processors.

• Go-to-Market (GTM): Support Marketing and Sales by developing the "Product Story" and articulating the value proposition of new JRNY releases.

Marginal Job Functions:

• Other projects as assigned

Requirements:

Education:

• 4-year degree in Digital Media, Product Management, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Business, or Marketing required.

• Master’s Degree (MBA or MS in Tech Management or Health and Fitness Related Subject Matter) preferred.

Experience:

• 7–10 years of experience in Digital Product Management or Content Strategy for a B2C subscription app (SaaS/Content streaming) required.

• Proven track record of leading mobile app development cycles (iOS/Android) and/or embedded systems.

• Deep understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

• Experience in the fitness, wellness, or gaming industry is highly preferred.

• Expertise in Retention and Engagement metrics (LTV, Churn, DAU/MAU).

• Experience managing products where digital software interacts with or controls physical hardware.

Other Requirements:

• Mastery of Product Management tools: JIRA, Confluence, or Productboard

• High proficiency in design collaboration tools: Figma, Miro, and Adobe Creative Cloud.
