Job Summary

Drive conversion-focused video scripting for Meta ads, shaping short-form hooks, long-form VSLs, and UGC-style scripts within a direct-response framework.

  • Own the end-to-end script creation from hook to final VO/text overlays in collaboration with media buyers and editors.
  • Must-have: Direct response background with ethical use of scarcity, authority, and empathy.
  • Standout: Real/raw, UGC-friendly writing with visual storytelling for in-car or home-office shoots.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Script for Conversion: Write high-energy, high-intent video scripts for Meta (Facebook/Instagram). This includes everything from short-form "hooks" to long-form VSLs and UGC-style "selfie" scripts.
  • Direct Response Mastery: Craft ad copy that focuses on pain points, benefits, and "The Big Idea," avoiding the generic, "corporate-speak" common in the insurance industry. Our brand targets conservative-Americans and the lingo will can be political that way.
  • Hook Development: Constantly brainstorm and test new "Pattern Interrupts" to stop the scroll in the first 3 seconds of a video.
  • Collaborative Execution: Work closely with our media buyers and video editors to ensure the final creative matches the intent and tone of your script.
  • Brand Voice: Maintain a tone that is patriotic, professional, and grounded in the values of freedom, affordability, and transparency.

Requirements

  • Direct Response Background: You understand the "Why" behind the "What." You know how to use psychological triggers (scarcity, authority, empathy) ethically.
  • Visual Thinker: When you write a script, you aren’t just writing words; you’re describing the visual "B-roll," the text overlays, and the energy required from the talent.
  • UGC Specialist: You prefer "real and raw" over "polished and cinematic." You know how to write scripts that look like they were filmed by a real person in their car or home office.
  • Data-Driven: You don't get married to your copy. If the ROAS isn't there, you're ready to pivot and test a new angle immediately.
  • Experience in Insurance/Finance (Bonus not a must-have): You know how to make "boring" topics like health coverage feel urgent and essential. (Familiarity with compliance is a huge plus).

Preferred

  • Insurance/Finance experience (Bonus not a must-have)
  • Familiarity with compliance (huge plus)
