In 1990, a small group of dedicated volunteers with a desire to eliminate substandard housing in our community founded San Gabriel Valley Habitat for Humanity. Thanks to our supporters, more than 400 local and international families have been able to build or repair their own homes here in Los Angeles’ San Gabriel Valley and beyond. Through the years, we have maintained our unrelenting determination to help families in need by offering a hand up, not a handout. Through donations, shopping at our ReStores, volunteering or adding a voice to support affordable housing, everyone can help families achieve the strength, stability, and self-reliance they need to build better lives for themselves.

Job Summary:

The Digital Marketing Officer is a valued member of the marketing team at San Gabriel Valley Habitat for Humanity who works on marketing, communications, fundraising, and administrative projects to assist in telling the organization’s story to our community. We are seeking an individual that will help San Gabriel Valley Habitat for Humanity maintain a felt presence across all digital platforms and accurately share our vision through marketing promotions.

This position is 20-25 hours per week and may be asked to work Saturdays and/or Sundays in addition to traditional Monday-Friday workdays. 

Key Responsibilities:

This addition to our team will help execute the following items and have a minimum of 6 months to 1 year of relevant experience:

  • Organize content and photos from team members that will be used for promotion
  • Function as a  member of the Communications and Operations Team: collaborate with other team members, participate in staff meetings, and participate in shaping the department’s strategic direction
  • Collaborate closely with the marketing manager to organize department materials 
  • Create videos that tell the story of the affiliate and those who support us.
  • Assist with creating engaging social media content on Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and YouTube
  • Track ROI and analytics and create reports to share success

Requirements

Qualifications

· Minimum 6 months to 1 year of relevant experience in digital marketing, social media, communications, or a related field. 

· Experience creating content for social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube. 

· Photography and videography experience. 

· Experience using Canva, Microsoft Office, and video editing programs. 

· WordPress experience preferred but not required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. 
  • Strong attention to detail. 
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively. 
  • Comfortable organizing digital content, photos, and marketing materials. 
  • Commitment to  working respectfully with people from diverse backgrounds and identities.
