  • Content Engine: Research, write, edit, publish, and align with editorial calendars across internal and external audiences.
  • Social & Distribution: Build campaigns on Instagram, LinkedIn, and Facebook and monitor engagement.
  • Editorial & Compliance: Edit for accuracy and tone, coordinating with SMEs to simplify technical content.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Research, write, edit, and publish content that supports the Division of Operations' essential communication goals.
  • Develop articles, feature stories, news updates, project highlights, employee spotlights, and other written communications for internal and external audiences.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to gather information and transform technical or operational content into clear, engaging, and accessible communications.
  • Serve as an editor for divisional communications, ensuring accuracy, consistency, quality, tone, grammar, and adherence to university standards.
  • Maintain editorial calendars and coordinate content production schedules across multiple communication channels.
  • Develop, schedule, publish, and monitor content across divisional social media platforms, including Instagram, LinkedIn, and Facebook.
  • Create engaging social media campaigns that promote divisional initiatives, services, projects, sustainability efforts, employee achievements, and campus impact.
  • Manage social media content calendars and coordinate messaging across platforms using Sprout Social.
  • Monitor audience engagement and respond to inquiries or coordinate responses as appropriate.
  • Track performance metrics and provide recommendations to improve reach, engagement, and effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations, English, Digital Media, or a related field. An equivalent combinations of education and professional experience may substitute for the degree requirement.
  • Two+ years of progressive professional experience in content development, digital communications, social media management, marketing communications, or a related field, including demonstrated experience creating and managing content across multiple digital channels.
  • Demonstrated experience writing and editing professional communications for diverse audiences.

Preferred

  • 2+ years of experience working in higher education, public-sector, nonprofit, or mission-driven organizations.
  • 2+ years of experience managing website content through a content management system.
  • 2+ years of experience developing content strategies across multiple digital channels.
  • 2+ years of experience using email marketing platforms; familiarity with Salesforce Marketing Cloud preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience using social media management tools; familiarity with Sprout Social preferred.
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards, SEO principles, and digital content standards.
  • Experience interpreting analytics and using data to inform communication strategies.
