Responsibilities

• Social media content: Produces, posts, and schedules social media content (written and visual) weekly for the college’s social media accounts, with an eye toward representing the diversity of the faculty, staff, and student body.
• Analyzes and optimizes COM-T’s flagship social media accounts to achieve institutional goals.
• Tracks, analyzes, and reports data from college’s flagship social media channels to demonstrate and optimize strategic social media’s success and identify areas to improve digital media performance.
• Maintains knowledge of industry best practices, techniques, standards, and trends.
• Monitors social media forums, direct messages and mentions, and the email inbox for Brand Communications, and responds to comments as well as DMs as needed.
• Newsletter creation:
• Gathers content from approved sources.
• Edits content to align with Associated Press, U of A, and internal style guidelines.
• Fact-checks submissions wherever possible.
• Ensures featured graphics and photos are approved, sized, and ready for upload into content management system.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
• Minimum of three (3) years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Preferred

• Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, English, or a related field, or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional-level experience, required.
• Basic health/science literacy.
• Basic understanding of HIPAA and FERPA laws and compliance.
• Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat).
• Skill in Drupal QuickStart 3.0.
• Skill in Trellis CRM, which is powered by Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
