Own digital news strategy and lead a team to win breaking news and severe weather across website, apps, and social, while shaping daily coverage with a bias toward fast, high-quality digital storytelling.

Own daily strategy around trending stories and proactive web content across web, mobile, and social to drive timely coverage.
Lead a high-performing Digital Producers team guiding all digital and streaming news content for speed and quality.
Partner with the News Director to ensure strong leadership, clear communication, and newsroom alignment for fast delivery.

Job Description

Responsibilities\n

lead, plan, and execute a daily strategy including trending stories throughout the market. Proactively seek out fresh web content. Be an aggressive web ambassador in the newsroom.
This person will report to the News Director and is expected to lead a high-performing team of Digital Producers responsible for guiding all aspects of our digital and streaming news content.
We are seeking a strong, visionary, and accomplished leader who must be a team player with excellent leadership, written and verbal communication skills.
The person we are looking for is a Digital Champion -- a leader who is ready to win breaking news and severe weather coverage on our powerhouse website, apps, social media, and other platforms.

\n\nRequirements\n

Strong writing skills and news judgment with the ability to carry a news story across web, mobile, and social media.
A college degree in Journalism or related field is preferred.
Previous experience working on a news website is preferred.
